I wanted to express my sadness for the loss of Robert Legh, your esteemed Chairman. I only know him through the obituary I read and I truly feel the world has lost one of its greats. COVID really has been brutal.

These are extremely sad news. My deepest condolences to Robert’s family, friends and colleagues. We will miss him dearly at our annual cocktail party in NY which in normal times we hold in early June, and at the Lex Mundi and IBA conferences.

It is with deep sorrow that I heard of Rob Legh’s passing this week-end and wish to express on behalf of the Energy Law Group and myself my sincere condolences to his family and colleagues in Bowmans in this most difficult time.

He was behind Bowmans becoming an intrinsic part of the ELG, and I will always remember with great fondness our deep and illuminating professional and personal conversations over the last few years in France and in South Africa.

I could use a thousand words to describe the humane qualities of this most unique and brilliant lawyer but would rather whisper a simple “thank you” to my now departed friend and colleague.

He will remain in our thoughts.

I heard this news on Friday and was truly shocked. I am aware of the love and respect in which Robert was held by the Bowmans family and can imagine the impact his sudden loss is having on everyone.
