Webinar: In conversation with our regulators

23 August 2022 | Financial Services Regulatory, Finance

On Tuesday, 16 August 2022, we hosted our second webinar in a series titled ‘In conversation with our regulators’.

This second conversation was held with acting registrar and chief executive officer at the Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) in Zambia, Mrs Namakau Mundia Ntini. PIA is the regulator and the supervisor of the pensions and insurance industries in Zambia.

Mrs. Ntini has been with the PIA for the last 13 years. She has been actively involved in the financial sector reforms in Zambia, including the Financial Sector Development Plan (FSDP), the SADC-CISNA initiated project that developed the Microinsurance Guidance Note for Member States, and the current National Financial Inclusion Strategy (where she serves on the Implementation Committee). She was also instrumental in the work that led to the enactment of the Insurance Act 38 of 2021.

She has an MSc in Finance (Financial Sector Management) from the University of London and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).

The discussion was facilitated by Christine Rodrigues, partner in our Banking and Finance practice.
