Saito Kiminori, Nishimura & Asahi

Apart from the formal Nishimura & Asahi’s deepest condolence E-mail, I was very shocked to hear Rob’s sad news on last Sunday, and so I want to send this E-mail personally.

It is no doubt that Rob was a great lawyer and a superb gentleman. Additionally, when I was leaving Jo’burg and greeted Rob in his office on last March, I clearly remember he cared about me a lot.

It would be greatly appreciated if you can accept my heartfelt and deepest condolences for your loss of Rob.

Queenie Abia, Chief Operating Officer, Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie

We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of Rob. He was indeed a good friend of the firm and was instrumental in making our alliance relationship a reality. I recall having dinner with him the last time I was in Jo’burg, he made the evening a truly remarkable one.

This is devastating news indeed. Rob was a calm, kind and thoughtful person and I was lucky enough to meet him many times during our Lex Mundi events. All the messages of mourning and condolences around the globe show that he was loved and respected by all. He will be deeply missed.

My condolences on the untimely passing of Robert Legh. I first came across him in the Nedbank/Standard Bank hostile takeover bid where we both were assistants to our respective senior partners. My last engagement with him was approximately two years ago. I found him to be a competent and dedicated lawyer. I am sure he will leave a void not only at Bowmans but also in the profession.
