A court ruling which also sets a new precedent for competition rules in the aviation industry is going to worsen the already embattled South African Airways’ financial situation even further. The South Gauteng High Court ruled that SAA is responsible for over R100million’s worth of losses led by the liquidated Nationwide Airlines due to underhanded sales techniques. Bowman Gilfillan Africa Group’s Lucinda Verster, who represents Nationwide, spoke to eNuus about the matter.
