Both the South African Government and members of the private sector have suggested reforms to the public-private partnership (PPP) framework to ensure that they deliver on their potential to accelerate investment in much-needed infrastructure. The big questions are whether, and how, intention can be translated into action. This is the third in a series of three recordings on infrastructure-related PPPs in South Africa. Senior associate Smita Vassan talks to Patrick Hirsch, who heads Bowmans’ Project Finance Practice, about what needs to happen to maximise the potential of PPPs to deliver much-needed infrastructure.
