Chambers highlights Ezra Davids’ contribution to Africa’s legal profession

28 May 2026

Bowmans chairman and senior partner, Ezra Davids, received a special Outstanding Contribution Award at the Chambers Africa Awards held earlier today (28 May 2026).

The award recognises his many years at the top of the legal profession in South Africa and the long list of achievements he has had in his career.

Bowmans managing partner Alan Keep says, ‘A huge congratulations to Ezra, whose career has been nothing short of exceptional. We are proud to work alongside such a commendable leader and colleague who has accomplished so much and made such a valuable contribution to the legal profession as a whole and to Bowmans in particular’.

Davids says, ‘Thank you to Chambers and Partners for this recognition. It’s an honour to be acknowledged in this way, particularly by an institution that has, for many years, played such an important role in shaping standards of excellence across the legal profession.’

According to Chambers, the awards ‘celebrate top law firms’ pre-eminence across key African jurisdictions [and] recognise outstanding achievements over the past year, including exceptional legal expertise and casework; remarkable strategic growth and expansion; and superior client service delivery’.

Bowmans’ standing as the pre-eminent African law firm was also confirmed in that it was shortlisted for Firm of the Year awards in all six of the African countries in which it has offices.
