Her work spans both advisory and contentious matters, including brand protection, the prosecution and enforcement of intellectual property rights, anti-counterfeit matters, regulatory compliance, and the drafting and negotiation of technology and commercial agreements. She has advised multinational corporations and public and private entities on complex projects including in e-commerce, telecommunications, fintech, and emerging digital services.

Advises and represents local and international clients on the protection, enforcement and commercialisation of intellectual property rights, including trade mark disputes, digital platform-related IP risks, and the structuring of IP arrangements. - Successfully represented a leading Kenyan shoe manufacturing company in trade mark expungement proceedings against a competitor before the Registrar of Trade Marks.*

Mumbi’s experience in this area includes:
- Advised a leading United States-based university on its data protection obligations in Kenya, including cross-border data transfers between the university and its local entity, and broader regulatory compliance requirements.*
- Drafted constitutive documents, data sharing agreements, and data governance guidelines for a multi-stakeholder Community of Practice focused on data-driven decision-making in the agriculture sector.*
- Assisted a property management company with its registration as a data controller under the Kenya Data Protection Act, including advisory on initial compliance requirements.*
