Overview
Lara was admitted as a legal practitioner of the High Court of Namibia in October 2022.
Her areas of practice focus on corporate and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, competition (antitrust) law, intellectual property law, natural resources law (mining, oil & gas), project financing and insurance law. She assists with the drafting and reviewing of contracts, conducting legal due diligences, preparing regulatory frameworks as well as the drafting of legal opinions.
Experience
*Experience prior to joining Bowmans
Lara has advised/assisted:
- As Borrower’s counsel, with the due diligence process and ultimate closing of transaction pertaining to the 44MW Diaz Wind Power Plant near Luderitz, Namibia.*
- With the registration and setting up of a Namibian subsidiary of a Norwegian salmon farming company, African Aquaculture Namibia.*
- Major international oil and gas companies on operations within the Namibian jurisdiction and the obtaining of petroleum licences.
- Major international mining companies on mining operations, obtaining of licences, the drafting of tenement reports and providing transactional assistance (including conducting of due diligences), including the purchase of the Tsumeb Smelter to the value of USD 50 million.
- Major international renewable energy sector service providers, including on the acquisition of a majority share of an entity operating a solar power plant in the south of Namibia.
