Overview
Keshni frequently advises corporate and public sector clients on various aspects of employment law.
She has extensive experience in conducting investigations and advising on, initiating and executing procedurally and substantively fair disciplinary procedures for her clients, including representation where the outcome is challenged. She has appeared at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration, Bargaining Councils and Labour Court.
Keshni also advises clients on collective bargaining, effective strike management, review of arbitration awards, urgent applications, managing and implementing restructuring exercises, retrenchments and urgent applications. She is also adept in drafting, updating and revising employment policies, procedures, and contracts.
Keshni regularly conducts training on topics such as how to manage discipline and poor performance in the workplace and workplace harassment.
In 2015 and 2016, Keshni was seconded to Pikitup Proprietary Limited to assist with employee relations matters. During this secondment, she played a key role in amending policies, procedures, and employment contracts, managing poor work performance, implementing progressive disciplinary management, and initiating disciplinary hearings.
Notably, Keshni led disciplinary proceedings against approximately 4,000 striking employees, assisting the client in formulating disciplinary charges and managing a mass collective disciplinary hearing.
Keshni has also recently completed a commercial mediator skills training course and is a Conflict Dynamics accredited mediator.
