- MTN Group on the creation of a legal playbook for negotiation and management of telecommunications tower lease agreements by MTN’s operating companies throughout Africa.
- A prominent and well-known fibre network operator on the potential establishment of a 50/50 joint venture with a mobile network operator, in Tanzania, including: (i) the sale of FTTS and Metro Core fibre assets from the MNO to the JV and provision of leaseback services to the MNO; (ii) the establishment of an FTTH network, and negotiation of a backhaul agreement and ISP agreement with the MNO.
- City of Cape Town on the appointment of a carrier network service provider and sales partner, pursuant to the Broadband Infrastructure Programme (BIP), undertaken to restructure and optimise the utilisation of the City’s broadband network infrastructure.
- MTN SA on the appointment of Tecnotree for the supply (including design, integration, licensing, maintenance and support) of an end-to-end digital business support system (BSS), for capturing and management of all customer-facing activities (valued at billions of rand per month once implemented) – including ordering, account management, billing and collection.
- A very prominent pharmacy group in relation to the negotiation of a partnership agreement to be concluded with one of South Africa’s big banks, for the provision of enhanced loyalty benefits to the client’s loyalty programme customers, including arrangements for personal and non-personal data sharing.
- City of Cape Town on the appointment of a range of vendors pursuant to its 10-year multi-billion rand digital transformation initiative relating to its core applications (including on-premise, cloud and hybrid solutions), the Core Applications Refresh (CAR) Programme.
- Old Mutual on the procurement of a variety of outsourced services and material information technology, telecommunications and converged solutions used in the conduct of the Old Mutual business, including:
- a new ‘digital advisor enablement’ software-as-a-service solution provided by a foreign service provider;
- outsourced mainframe (IT infrastructure) services for 3 – 6 years;
- managed network security infrastructure services, involving the migration of the services from previous provider; and
- an intragroup arrangement for provision of personal and non-personal data collection, enrichment and sharing services by one group entity to another, with the potential for expansion to third party arrangements.
- Alexforbes in relation to its key information and communications technology (ICT) projects, including: (i) Alexforbes’ multi-million rand long-term appointment of a very prominent, JSE-listed, multinational ICT service provider to provide a wide range of core managed network and information technology services across the Alexforbes group; and (ii) the appointment of a very prominent, NYSE-listed, multinational technology company for the provision of information technology and consulting services, pursuant to implementation of the Alexforbes digitisation strategy.
