Overview

Jumoke Lambo is the managing partner of Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie (UUBO), Bowmans’ alliance Firm in Nigeria. She also heads the firm’s telecommunications, media, and technology (TMT) sector, co-heads its Aviation and Employment practice, and oversees Alsec Nominees Ltd. This company holds UUBO’s company secretarial team, which has over 300 companies in its portfolio. Experience

  • Jumoke was a member of the consortium of international experts whose services were retained by the Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), to review and modify the legal/ regulatory framework for Nigeria’s telecommunications sector. She was subsequently involved in drafting the Nigerian Communications Act 2003.
  • Jumoke has also assisted the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and the NITDA in their drive to raise awareness among their various stakeholders within and outside Nigeria. In this regard, she has been a member of the NCC’s faculty for training judges on cybersecurity and has assisted the NITDA by reviewing policy documents and providing input into proposed draft legislation.
  • She has assisted clients in establishing and doing business in Nigeria and regularly advises investors on the acquisitions of interests in Nigerian companies.
  • She has assisted clients with employment and end-of-employment documentation, the negotiating and settling employment-related contractual and trade disputes and advising on employee issues in the context of bankruptcies, company liquidations, mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and restructuring.
  • Jumoke was seconded to both Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Ltd – Etisalat Nigeria (now 9 Mobile) (2009-2010), and Union Bank of Nigeria (2014-2017) to introduce processes and structures to improve their efficiency and optimise output. These secondments also broadened her own experience in the legal sphere through the exposure to in-house legal work.
  • She and advises widely on data protection issues and is noted for her expertise in data protection. UUBO is a licensed data protection compliance organisation with the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and as a result, Jumoke advises clients on data protection compliance under the Nigerian Data Protection Regulation 2019.
