  • Stanbic Bank Tanzania Ltd, NMB Bank Plc, National Bank of Commerce Limited and Standard Chartered Bank Tanzania Limited in connection with a TZS 215,000,000,000 syndicated term loan facility to Kilombero Sugar Company Limited.
  • Société Générale S.A on security package relating a loan facility to IXM SA.
  • EDFI Management Company SA on a USD 2 million unsecured term loan facility in favour of EA Foods Limited.
  • Walkabout Resources Limited on a USD 25 million senior debt facility for the construction of the Lindi Jumbo Graphite mine in Tanzania.
  • Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited on a legal complex, multi-jurisdictional funding in relation to a USD 25 million Term Loan Facility to African Banking Corporation Tanzania Limited.

  • Investec Bank Limited (Acting Through Its Corporate & Institutional Banking Division) in relation to a refinancing to CRDB (ongoing)
  • Nedbank Limited with respect to a USD 10 Million pre-export uncommitted facility extended to Afrisian Ginning Limited.
  • Nedbank Limited with respect to a USD 7 Million pre-export/import uncommitted facility extended to Bajrang International FZC.
  • Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries SA (BIO) regarding its financing to EA Foods Limited in the form of a senior unsecured loan in an amount of the equivalent of EUR 3 million in USD.
  • British International Investment (BII) in relation to a USD 15 million with the potential to increase this to USD 25 million, to renewable energy platform Rift Valley Energy.
  • Mawingu Networks Limited in connection with the financing by Africa Go Green Fund for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Investments S.C.S SICAV-RAIF.
  • Usangu Logistics (T) Limited in relation to its USD 10 million facility by Marula Investments Limited.
  • OakNorth Bank and Nedbank South Africa in respect to the financing of the acquisitions of ARP Africa Travel Limited, Travel Union Inc. Ranger Safaris Limited and Pollman’s Tours and Safaris Limited (Pollman) by Alterra Capital Partners.

Advising Stanbic Bank Tanzania Limited in relation to a:

  • TZS 70 billion medium term loan facility to Airtel Tanzania PLC;
  • USD 20 million medium – term loan facility to Mufindi Paper Mills Limited;
  • USD 13 million term loan facility to Said Salim Bakhresa Limited;
  • USD 17 million refinancing in favour of Capital Properties Limited; and
  • USD 15 million working capital loan to MIC Tanzania Public Limited Company (now Honora Tanzania Public Limited Company).

Other experience:

  • Advising Facebook, Mastercard, Microsoft and Google on a range of regulatory issues in Tanzania, including but not limited to data protection and processing in Tanzania.
  • Advising and assisting various companies with applying and obtaining licenses and approvals from Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority and Bank of Tanzania.
  • Advising a client on the procedure of accreditation of foreign reinsurance companies in Tanzania.
  • Advising various companies on due diligence in relation to proposed acquisition of companies in Tanzania.
  • Advising and assisting various clients with applying and obtaining approvals from the Fair Competition Commission.
  • Assisting international and local companies with registration of various brands and intellectual property in Tanzania.
  • Representing various local and international companies in labour proceedings at the Commission for Mediation and Arbitration.
  • Advised Uber B.V on various regulatory, employment and payment processing issues regarding the change of their business model from its current agent business model to a merchant business model.
  • Advised North Mara Gold Mine, Bulyanhulu Gold Mine and Pangea Minerals (Buzwagi Gold Mine), three of Tanzania’s’ largest gold mines now owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania, on mining and related legal compliance issues in Tanzania.

Flora has also:

  • Conducted a due diligence for Minara Tanzania Limited for their acquisition of Airtel Tanzania PLC’s telecommunication towers and has prepared an overview of the Arbitration Act in Tanzania.

Qualifications

  • Flora Mukasa has Post-Graduate Diploma at the Law School of Tanzania and an LLB degree from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya.
