Overview

Dave Boolauky heads the Dispute Resolution practice of our Port Louis office.

Dave’s experience includes advising and litigation on many aspects of Mauritian law including labour laws, leasing, property matters, commercial disputes, and family law.  He is au fait in legal drafting and advising various financial institutions, commercial property entities and insurance houses, amongst others.

He appears mainly before, the Supreme Court of Mauritius, the Intermediate Court of Mauritius, as well as alternative dispute resolution forums in relation to both domestic and international mediation and arbitration hearings.

Dave has worked for various noteworthy clients such as Les Gaz Industriels Ltd, the Employees Welfare Fund, the Central Electricity Board and Essar Global Fund amongst others.

  • ABC Banking Corporation in its application for sanctioning the schedule of steps in relation to the restructuring of ABC Group.
  • Chilling Global Fiduciary Services Ltd in resisting an injunction lodge by Zebu under the internation Arbitration Act to prevent them from acting as the new fund manager of a fund.
  • Horsey Brothers in an mandatory injunction to ensure enforcement of a deed of trust
  • Iships Maritime LLC in respect of the arrest of MV Tampen, a vessel owned by Prince Marine Transport Services in view of a debt owed by Prince Marine.
  • Mogs International Proprietary Limited in the recognition and enforcement of a foreign arbitral award.
  • Peter Van Zyl in the revival of liquidated entity and the re-appointment of the former liquidator.
  • SBM Fund services and SBM Capital Markets Ltd in front of the Supreme Court of Mauritius (commercial division).
  • In the various courts of Mauritius for enforcement of foreign arbitral award proceedings.
  • In court in cross border insolvency proceedings before the Supreme Court of Mauritius (Bankruptcy Division).
