Overview

Celia is an English and Welsh and South African qualified lawyer, conveyancer and notary public with more than15 years’ experience working with global law firms and corporates on legal project management, process improvement, legal technology and innovation. 

Between 2009 and 2015, Celia was Head of Legal at Exigent (a global LPO provider) where she was initially tasked with establishing and overseeing offshore outsourced legal services for Pinsent Masons.  The Exigent team’s services subsequently expanded to include over 300 staff offering eDiscovery, due diligence and contract lifecycle management support for corporates and law firms across five continents. 

In 2015 Celia joined Webber Wentzel as Legal Project Manager, successfully launching its Legal Services Centre (focusing on alternative resourcing) and spearheading the firm’s implementation of artificial intelligence in the legal service delivery (a first for a South African law firm).

Celia joined Bowmans in 2018 as Legal Service Improvement Manager focusing on project management, legal process design and improvement and digital transformation.

Celia has an LLB from the University of Stellenbosch, an LLM (Comm) degree from UNISA and a conversion master’s degree in IT from UCT. She is a qualified PRINCE2 practitioner.
