Overview
Alessandra Pardini specialises in project development for project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sector.
She has substantial experience in structuring the commercial agreements for such transactions as well as drafting and negotiating the operational arrangements, in particular, in respect of various international form engineering, procurement and construction contracts, operation and maintenance contracts, power purchase agreements and bespoke public private partnership arrangements.
Alessandra also has expertise in equity and debt financing a well as mergers and acquisitions transactions in the mining and resources sectors. Alessandra has co-authored various articles, focused on decarbonisation and finding energy solutions for the mining sector. She is a regular lecturer and facilitator on all forms of construction contracts for clients, industry bodies and academic institutions.

- Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank Limited) on the financing of the design, construction and operation of the 69MW Msenge onshore wind farm located in the Eastern Cape. The first captive wind project to reach financial close in South Africa.*
- Richards Bay Titanium on its private power purchase agreements with various independent power producers.*
- A consortium of manganese mining companies in respect of strategic infrastructure including rail and port solutions.*
- Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank Limited) on the 89MW Castle wind farm, this was the first private power deal to reach financial close for Sibanye-Stillwater, delivering power to its mining operations.*
- Tronox Mineral Sands in respect of its renewable energy strategy in Southern Africa including the procurement of a 200mw of wind with Sola Group.*
- Tronox Mineral Sands in respect of the conclusion of an LNG supply agreement with Volco power.*
- Discovery Green in respect of the development and roll out of their energy trading business.*
- QIT Madagascar Minerals S.A. on purchasing energy from an independent power producer that will develop a solar PV and wind facility to supply energy to QMM’s Mine in Madagascar.*
- Raxio Group in respect of the development and construction of data centres in South Africa, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cote D’ Ivoire.*
- Emerging Africa Infrastructure in respect of a green bond for copper belt energy corporation renewables in Zambia.*
- Enel Green Power on their development of the 330MWs of wind energy for Sasol and Air Liquide. The project will be one of the largest wind powered wheeling facilities in Africa.*
- HyCC BV in respect of a green development project in the port of the Netherlands.*
- Nafasi Water Technologies in respect of the development of strategic water structure for Seriti.*
- NOA Group, a subsidiary of AIIM, in respect of its aggregator energy structuring.*
- A consortium of iron ore in respect of strategic infrastructure including rail and port solutions.*
- Rand Merchant Bank (a division of FirstRand Bank Limited) and Absa Bank Limited in respect of the 97.5MW solar PV project developed by Mainstream for the Sasol SA Limited and Air Liquide private procurement.*
- Lebalelo Water User Associate (a section 92 National Water Act Association comprised of public and private sector parties including platinum mining companies) in respect of the development of, and upgrading of, bulk raw water and potable water infrastructure for the ORWRDP.*
- Yellow Door Energy in respect of its battery energy storage system power purchase agreements for various captive projects.*
- Metier Investment and Advisory Services in relation to the acquisition and financing of a portfolio of commercial and industrial rooftop solar photovoltaic assets in Namibia.*
- SOLA Group (in particular Sola Build) in respect of the engineering, procurement and construction as well as the operation and maintenance of the 10MW wheeling project for Amazon Web Services as off taker.*
- Alten Renewable Energy Group in respect of its 37MW solar PV project in Namibia.*
- Pembani Remgro Infrastructure fund in relation to an acquisition of shares in Sedgeley Solar Management/Solar Saver SA, which holds a portfolio of commercial and industrial solar photovoltaic assets in South Africa/Namibia.*
- Global Climate Partnership Fund SICAV-SIF as lender in respect of two 5MW REFIT Projects in Rosh Pinah, Namibia.*
- The lenders of three separate project companies being a 100MW CSP Parabolic Trough project, a 50MW CSP Tower, the XINA 100MW CSP Parabolic Trough project, currently being implemented under the South African Government’s Renewable Energy Program.*
