Overview
Aanisah Ramroop specialises in corporate restructuring, business rescue and insolvency-related matters. Aanisah has substantial and broad-ranging experience in various aspects of liquidations, sequestrations and business rescue. She has assisted in the representation of creditors (particularly financial institutions), insolvency practitioners (liquidators and trustees) and business rescue practitioners.
Aanisah advises liquidators of companies and trustees of insolvent estates with regard to various aspects of the administration process, including the sale of assets, disputes regarding security, objections to liquidation and distribution accounts, review applications, insolvency enquiries, and impeachable transactions. She also represents foreign appointees in relation to their recognition and asset recovery in South Africa.
She advises business rescue practitioners regarding the business rescue process including providing advice on the provisions of the Companies Act, 71 of 2008 and developments in the law relating to the interpretation of the provisions of the Act. Her experience extends to dealing with disputed claims, the ranking of claims, post-commencement finance and the application of the moratorium on legal proceedings.

- Completed the SARIPA Programme in Insolvency Law and Practice in 2013 and the Advanced Short Course in Business Rescue offered by LEAD through UNISA in 2016.
