Further to our update that the IPR owners intending to import their goods into Kenya will be required to have recorded their trade marks by 1 July 2022 reported here and here. We wish to notify you that the Kenyan Anti-Counterfeit Authority has extended the deadline for compliance to 1 January 2023 vide Public Notice No. 2 of 2022 (replicated below).

This development is welcome because there are a number of issues with how this recordal process will be implemented and effected which will need to be clarified. Bowmans is engaging with the ACA for clarification on behalf of clients.
