COVID-19: Shipping and Logistics – regulations, notices and updates

25 March 2020
– 1 Minute Read

In response to the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak, sweeping regulatory controls were introduced, almost overnight, by the principal governmental role players in the South African ports, transport and logistics sectors. As the Covid-19 outbreak evolved, the regulatory controls changed over time. The national state of disaster declared on 15 March 2020 in terms of Section 27(2) of the Disaster Management Act 57 of 2002, was lifted on 4 April 2022. Transitional measures apply until national health regulations are put in place.

Please contact our Shipping & Logistics Practice Group or Ports, Transport and Logistics Sector Group for information about regulations, notices and updates issued during the Covid-19 national state of disaster and subsequently.
