Bowmans is pleased to collaborate with international law firm Simmons & Simmons in providing content for the Kenyan and Tanzanian sections of the Clean Energy Tool. The Clean Energy Tool is designed as a "one-stop-shop" for comprehensive information relating to investment in clean energy projects across various jurisdictions. With climate change disrupting traditional business mindsets across various sectors, the renewable energy market continues to rapidly expand against this backdrop, especially in the African continent, which is richly blessed with a wealth of renewable energy resources.

The Clean Energy Tool aims to provide investors, developers and other market players detailed legal and regulatory overviews on various aspects of renewable energy projects including the complex laws, regulations and processes on revenue streams, grid connections, land rights and acquisition, finance, tax, structuring and dispute resolution. To learn more about the tool, or to request a demo/free trial please visit Clean Energy Tool.

Bowmans’ contributions come from lawyers in the Kenya and Tanzania offices led by Aleem Tharani (Head of Projects, Energy and Infrastructure), Charles Mmasi (Partner), Edwin Baru (Senior Associate) and Matthew Arrumm (Senior Associate), supported by Jessica Mutemi (Associate) Kelvin Mosha (Associate) and Zakir Mohamed (Associate).
