Overview
Camille Kafula is an associate in our Banking and Finance Department of our Johannesburg office and a member of the General Finance Practice.
Camille has experience with preference share funding, structured finance and acquisition finance transactions, acting for both lenders and borrowers.
Camille has a BCom degree from the University of Cape Town and an LLB (with distinction) from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Relevant Experience
- Acted for Capitalworks in relation to financing for a takeover bid to acquire Peregrine Limited and the propsed delisting of Peregrine from the JSE and A2X.
- Acted for AIIM in relation to financing the acquisition by Phakwe Group of a solar PV facility in Limpopo and establishing South Africa’s first majorityt black-owned and controlled Independent Power Producer.
- Acted for Investec Bank Limited in relation to provising financing to a black economic empowerment vehicle for the acquisition of an equity stake in wind projects in the Northern Cape and Western Cape respectively.
- Acted for a consortium of banks for the refinancing of debts owed by a prominent telecommunications company and its holding company to third party funders.
- Advised and acted for a pension fund in relation to revisions and amendments to the agreement governing the mandate and relationship between the pension fund and its biggest fund manager.
