The Legal500 releases its rankings with Bowmans ranked in the top spots

The Legal500, regarded as one of the world’s largest and most reputable legal referral guides, recently announced its rankings for 2019 which has ranked 17 of Bowmans’ practice areas – eight in Tier 1 and a further nine in Tier 2 and 3. Our Tanzanian office has also landed a new entry in the ‘Leading Firms’ category.

The Legal500 is an independent directory which assesses the strengths of law firms in over 100 jurisdictions and continues to grow each year with new practice areas and additional countries. Firms and individuals are recommended purely on merit.

Bowmans’ leadership in Africa is repeated throughout the research feedback. It is also demonstrated by the fact that we were ranked in Tier 1 for Banking and Finance (Kenya), Competition (SA), Commercial/ Corporate/ M&A (SA and Kenya), Employment (SA and Kenya), Leading Firms (Tanzania and Uganda), Projects and Infrastructure (SA), Real Estate and Construction (Kenya) and Shipping (SA).

We have a total of 66 lawyers that have been recognised this year with 22 lawyers who have been included in the elite list of ‘Leading Individuals’, including the new entry of Rainbow Field, a Director in our Kenyan office and Julia Power, a senior associate in our Commercial Property Practice, a new entry in the ‘Next Generation Lawyers’ category.
