In CA Focus CC v Village Freezer t/a Ashmel Spar, the SCA determined that section 26(7) of the repealed Close Corporations Act 69 of 1984 retrospectively validates legal proceedings instituted by a close corporation during a period of deregistration, and that such legal proceedings interrupt prescription.
